Sparkle programme created many projects of a quick turnaround nature, typically seven to nine days in duration encompassing internal and external decorations, enhancement to bars and toilet areas, re-formation of patio and garden areas and the improvement to kitchen and food preparation areas. This was an out of town project completed on time and budget (£70,000)
A unique and exacting brief from a creative and inspirational design team was on the agenda from the Orange Tree Group in conjunction with A & G Architects. A bespoke design using client sourced materials varying from re-claimed Pew timber to scaffold planks to vintage fabrics all brought together to create a truly unique late night bar experience with inspired roof terrace. This was a nine week programme completed with the constraints of this busy student town location during October – December 2012 (£240,000)
Delivering a traditional quintessential English Inn flavour in design and feel with joinery requiring traditional construction methods in the way of raised and fielded panelling and distressing techniques to give an aged feel and effect, a 24 bedroom refurbishment along with structural alterations and full pub and restaurant refurbishment with significant external repairs to a part listed building in a conservation area. This project was delivered on time and budget during December 2012 – February 2013 (£420,000)
A massive 1400 square metre restaurant with function room facility to the first floor. An 18 week project with extensive structural alterations and kitchen extension with new bar and feature joinery all manufactured and fitted by our in-house joinery team.
This is another successful collaboration with this client during January – May 2013 (£800,000)
Everards Breweries first pub venture in Birmingham converted this 100 year old pub into an exiting New Orleans/French Quarter influenced establishment in the Jewelery Quarter of Birmingham. A semi derelict building on the pubs plot was converted into a garage style function room with roof terrace creating an individual feel along side the traditional British pub. A nine week programme working with Birmingham design group Newman Gauge to complete this sucessful project May 2013 (£240,000)
This privately owned family run business had a full internal refurbishment to ground floor retail areas and first floor private dining room to transform the prestigious Weeford restaurant into a stylish new relaxed brasserie – style restaurant. Contract start 7th January 2013 – handover 25th January 2013, another successful job on time and budget (£145,000).
January 2012 saw the re-development and refurbishment of The Public House in Great Barr, Birmingham. Taking the familiar role of Principal Contractor for the contract Wedge-Wood transformed what was a typical 70’s pub (bar, lounge, function room), into a bright, fully open planned family dining venue. Working with Wakefield based PDS Design, the 10 week contract was successfully completed on time and within budget.
Early 2010 saw the reopening of the new Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre and Wedge-Wood Construction were contracted to supply and fix a number of bar counters and furniture during the final few months of the contract. Working with the timber and stainless steel designs, Stage door reception desk furniture and bar counters for the Scott Foyer Bar, Gallery Bar, Swan Bar and Interval Drinks Bar were all produced and fitted to strict specifications and time constraints for the main contractors Mace and GF Tomlinson.
Refurbishment of their atrium, lounge and bar. Main works being joinery with limed ash finish to wall cladding, doors and bar (all manufactured in our 6000 square foot Joinery Shop). This valued client has trusted us with several refurbishments in their two hotels.
An eight week full refurbishment over three floors to this superb building in a conservation area with river frontage for one of our regular clients. Ground floor Restaurant and retail including main catering kitchen. 1st and 2nd floor 20 letting rooms all bedroom en-suite.
